Workshop Description:

Growing research shows that addressing clients’ spiritual beliefs in treatment allows for high-quality, holistic care.  However, there still exists a disparity in professionals’ attitudes and beliefs about the acceptability of incorporating a client’s spirituality into the treatment process.  This workshop focuses on identifying components of spirituality that can impact a client’s success in treatment, as well as offering a framework for professionals to comfortably approach the topic of spirituality with their clients.  Additionally, this workshop will allow professionals to explore their own spirituality and how those beliefs may impact client care.

Continuing Education Approval:

• AODA Professionals: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CE hours/credits as approved by the Illinois Certification Board for the following categories: Counselor II, CARS II, MISA II, PCGC II, CCJP II, CRSS II, MAATP II, NCRS II, CFPP II.

• Professional Counselors: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CE hours/credits as approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for LPCs and LCPCs.
