Workshop Description:

This workshop is designed for clinical professionals who provide mental health services to individuals, families, and/or adolescents. By recognizing the physical, mental, and emotional effects of food, this workshop will focus on how to identify foods that can help support a healthy mind and body. Participants will learn about specific foods that can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. In addition, participants with engage in a hands-on cooking demo to learn about simple ways to prepare foods that help create a more balanced mind.    

Continuing Education Approval:

  • AODA Professionals: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CE hours/credits as approved by the Illinois Certification Board for the following categories: Counselor II, CARS II, MISA I or II, PCGC II, CCJP II, CRSS I or II, CPRS I or II, MAATP II, NCRS II, CFPP II, CVSS II.

  • Professional Counselors: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CE hours/credits as approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for LPCs and LCPCs.

  • Social Workers: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CE hours/credits as approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for LSWs and LCSWs.

  • Nurses: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CE hours/credits as approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for APNs, RNs and LPNs.
