Workshop Description:

This workshop relates to education on using diverse creative processes to elicit artistic expressions--both of which, support a healing process, aid in stress management and promotes spiritual awareness. Through the lens of treatment interventions, then, this seminar incorporates distinct creative processes that assist in discovering and promoting artistic expressions. Participants will discuss and engage in various artistic mediums during this
workshop: storytelling, poetry, painting, singing and dancing to demonstrate how these artistic tools can aid in treating behavioral health issues. Techniques and knowledge within this seminar can be used during clinical encounters with the professional as facilitator, or the facilitator can teach the client to utilize these tools as a means of self-care or coping skills utilization outside of scheduled clinical time.

Continuing Education Approval:

  • AODA Professionals: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CEs as approved by the Illinois Certification Board for the following categories: XXXXXXX.

  • Professional Counselors: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CE hours/credits as approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for LPCs and LCPCs.
