Workshop Description:

Human trafficking can take many forms, including forced labor, sex work and domestic work. No matter the form, the experience for victims can be harrowing, creating an onset for many mental health symptoms. This workshop will walk clinical professionals through basic issues in human trafficking to bring awareness to this global issue. Through the use of a variety of learning methods, the workshop will help inform clinical professionals about the risk factors for becoming a human trafficking victim, signs that someone is a victim of human trafficking, the impact that physical, emotional and sexual abuse has on the victims' mental health, and will highlight some of the clinical interventions and resources available for professionals who find themselves working with these victims.
