Workshop Description:

Certified Alcohol and other Drug Abuse Professionals in the state of Illinois must adhere to the Illinois Certification Board’s Code of Ethics.  While most certified professionals are aware that they are bound to this code, for many professionals, a refresher is due.  Clients seeking treatment for alcohol and other drugs of abuse present with complicated stories that introduce professionals to many complex ideas regarding ethics.  The Code of Ethics, however, is very clear, and this workshop aims to review, through the use of case studies and role plays, ethical standards delineated in each section of the code in keeping with ICB’s mission to “maintain high ethical standards based on the principles of integrity, objectivity, professionalism and respect”.

Continuing Education Approval: 

• AODA Professionals: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion for 3 CEUs as approved by the Illinois Certification Board for the following categories: Counselor I or II, CARS I or II, MISA I or II, PCGC II, CCJP II, CAAP I or II, CRSS II, MAATP I or II, NCRS I or II, CFPP II.
